ESR’s main service provided to headhunters and companies for now 20 years is semi-search (research), which is according to a detailed profile specification based on us mapping all of the highly recommended talents at our clients competitors and/or parallel industries. We then approach these select “diamonds” for thorough phone screening and further quality checks through our extensive industry contacts (we have a database with +150,000 recommended candidates and sources). The final candidates on “the short list” is then presented to our clients for them to themselves to conduct the final face-to-face interviews.

Our belief is that the “diamonds” we are seeking in the corporate world are not actively looking for a new job, nor submitting job applications or to be found on job boards, but need to be identified and contacted on individual basis. In ensuring that we always identify the very best talents, each candidate on our clients short list both matches the requirements in the profile specification as well as have been highly recommended by multiple sources such as former bosses, clients and co-workers. At times our clients seeks our assistance in conducting the entire recruitment process, this being both the research phase, as well as handling the last part part of the process. When conducting traditional executive search (headhunting), we offer a 6 month guarantee, which means we will free of charge of any consulting fee identify a new high caliber candidate for client to hire. Our experience with “full search” is extensive, with more than 700 of these full-service placement completed, representing 20% of ESR’s assignments taken on. With our strong expertise of assessing candidates we assist our clients to help them to really know who they are considering for a position, to reduce or eliminate the risk of wrongful hire. We also assist venture firms wanting to conduct a thorough due-diligence of the management team of the company they are considering investing in. This service is inclusive the full-search service. Many of our research clients use this service in the last part of the recruitment process before an offer is extended to a candidate. TALENT MAPPING »

When there is a need to recruit several candidates with similar profile and skill-set a thorough mapping of the entire marketplace through creation of a “target list” of the top talents who are not active in the job market looking for a new job, is highly recommended. This service is excellent for both companies and headhunting firms, who themselves would like to conduct the phone interview with potential candidates. To make the market overview as helpful as possible we add individual information when possible next to the names of the candidates/profiles identified for our clients to be able to differentiate the names/profiles from one another.

RESEARCH TRAINING »

We provide full training in research at ESR’s training center in Los Angeles, California. Professionals at the traditional headhunting firms, as well as recruitment professionals at Fortune 500 companies participate in our work-shops. The entire research process is covered, from creating a winning research strategy, creating a profile specification, identifying target companies and individuals to contact for further screenings, sourcing/screening of key contacts, write-ups of final candidates and how to close out a project. An important part of the training involves how to find the information you are seeking about candidates that can’t be found online.

Before launching his research company in 1997, Christian worked as a research associate for two world leading headhunting organizations; A.T. Kearney in Scandinavia and Ward Howell in Los Angeles and Chicago. Prior to entering the field of recruitment he founded a newspaper covering the job market.
